Lea Švejdová

Bio:

Lea Švejdová started dancing as a child with Eva Blažíčková and later became a member of her Studio Chamber Dance II. She is one of the first graduates of the Duncan Centre Conservatory. She completed internships at the Laban Centre in London and at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and also studied at the P.A.R.T.S. dance academy in Brussels. She was a member of the international dance company Deja Donne for three years. Since 2003, she has been working in Prague as a choreographer, teacher and dancer. Lea is a co-founding member of NANOHACH, where she has created various dance pieces (e.g. Structures of Instability, Portrait, -gracerunners- and Brut). Her original projects include Seconds to Choose (2004) with Linda Samaraweerová (Austria) and Hechizada de Luxe (2005), which premiered at the Southern Theater in Minneapolis. Lea is the winner of the Performer Award 2006 and in 2008 was nominated for the SAZKA Award for “discovery in dance”. In 2011 she won the Best Contemporary Dance Performance Award (Russia). In fall 2013 Lea will perform in a new solo projects of NANOHACH and Lenka Flory with a working title Flashed by.
